Friday afternoon we drove to Monterey to visit Brian, Jamie and their 2 boys Tommy and William, and their beautiful dog Ben. Erika loved playing with the boys, the dog and all of their toys. Saturday afternoon Dale, Erika and I did a hike in Big Sur at Julie Pfeiffer State Park, the Buzzards' Loop Trail. We hiked along a creek, climbed up a mountain with tons of switchbacks, past lots of wildflowers, giant redwood trees and made it to the top to see the ocean, a beautiful day on the coast. We rested at the top on some rocks, ate and gave Dale a rest from carrying Erika all the way up. Along Highway 1 we stoped at a beach to let Erika walk on the beach. We had dinner with Brian and his family then drove home Saturday night, a great getaway for the whole family.
