Kathy Sommer 2020 Birthday Trip to California

Kathy visited Ginger and Karen from October 8-13, 2020 to celebrate her upcoming 70th birthday. Because of the pandemic, Ginger sent a respirator to Kathy to wear during travel. Kathy wore a mask over the respirator to meet all flight requirements, as well as disposable gloves.

On Friday evening, Ginger, Karen and Kathy met with Renee for an outdoor dinner at the Cheesecake Factory in Pleasanton. Afterwards, Renee drove the four of them through a haunted house attraction called Pirates of Emerson at the Alemeda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton. The car radio was tuned to the broadcasted soundtrack as they drove for about 20 minutes through the dimmly lit course with various characters jumping out at them!

On Saturday, Ginger, Karen and Kathy drove to Renee's house in Benicia for a the afternoon. They did a hike, soaked in the hot tub and had dinner. Erika baked and decorated a carrot birthday cake with real cream cheese frosting!
