Ginger and Karen took a day trip to Pacific Grove to visit
their Museum of Natural History for
their Fossil Festival. There were not many
actual fossils, mostly replicas meant to impress children, but
the rest of the museum featured local natural life. There was
also a small, native plant garden behind the museum, that was
first planted in 1900!
They took a break for lunch at Peppers Mexicali Cafe down the street. There were also interesting historical homes nearby, some with plaques listing the names of local women who once owned them. It was speculated that the houses were listed under the womens' names to shelter them from their husband's businesses in case of bankrupcy. |
