Ginger and Karen went on a day trip sponsored by the Sunnyvale Senior Center to watch the Fleet Week Air Show rehearsal aboard the USS Potomac. This ship was F.D.R.'s presidential yacht, which has been restored to its appearance during the 1940's and now is docked in Oakland. The trip left the Sunnyvale Senior Center by bus to Oakland. There was a short movie about the USS Potomac in a visitor's center before boarding the ship. The cruise passed under the Bay Bridge and the Golden Gate Bridge. The Blue Anglels navy jets practiced overhead. A box lunch was provided aboard the ship.
