knock symbol is left of the display window, first display is System Today

knock hard on the knock symbol with your fist to wake up the display

knock until System Lifetime is displayed

Write down the System Lifetime number at the end of the month.
If you forget to do that in the evening on the last day of the month,
then record the reading the next day but subtract the System Today kWh value.
